Creating Realistic Clouds
1. Create a basic shape for the cloud using a box. (my object is about 200X200X60 )

2. Create a PCloud particle system and pick the basic shape object we just created as PCloud’s Object-based Emiter. 3. Set Viewport Display type to Mesh. 4. Go to the Particle Type rollout and set particle type to sphere. 5. Go to the Particle Generation rollout and in Particle Size group set, Size = 50 , Variation = 45 6. In Particle Quantity group set Use Total = 130 (if you not get it like in Fig:2 use a different value.)
7. Go to the Material Editor and select an emty slot. Change the Diffuse Color to pure white. (if you need dark clouds use a dark color)
8. Assign a Falloff to the Opacity map. Swap the black and white colors so the upper one is white.
9. Adjust the Mix Curve to appear as in Fig:3.
10. Assign a Noise to the white color map slot. Set Noise type = Turbulence , Size = 13 and Levels = 3.5
11. Go back and assign a Falloff to the Self-Illumination map.
12. Change first color to (RGB) 200,200,200 and second color to 55,55,55. Change both color values to 50.
13. Set falloff type to Shadow / Light.
14. Back in Blinn-Basic Parameters rollout turn on color in Self-Illumination group.
15. In Maps rollout set Self-Illumination value to 50.
16. Select the basic shape object we created earlier and turn off Renderable in its properties. 17. Add an omini light and render. Thats all !
Here are some other cloud rendrings of mine using the same method.
